Effective Date: September 3, 2026
Advocate is a free, experimental web application that allows users to upload documents and receive AI-generated analysis of potential compliance or regulatory issues.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Advocate collects, how that information is used, and how we handle documents submitted through the service.
1. Information We Collect
When you use Advocate, you may provide information such as your name, email address, and documents that you choose to upload.
Uploaded documents may contain personal or sensitive information, including names, addresses, financial information, transaction information, account information, or other information contained in the document.
Advocate may also automatically collect limited technical information necessary to operate, troubleshoot, and secure the service, such as IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, and diagnostic or security logs.
2. How We Use Information
We use information collected through Advocate to:
- provide the document analysis you request;
- process uploaded documents and generate results;
- operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and secure Advocate;
- maintain user accounts;
- prevent fraud, abuse, or misuse of the service; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell your uploaded documents or personal information.
3. AI and Third-Party Processing
Advocate uses artificial intelligence and may rely on third-party technology providers to operate the service, including providers of artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, document processing, authentication, monitoring, and security services.
Information contained in documents you upload may be transmitted to and processed by these providers when necessary to perform the analysis you request or operate the service.
These providers may process information according to their applicable terms, privacy practices, and agreements with Advocate.
4. Document Retention
We retain uploaded documents and information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide, operate, secure, and improve Advocate, or as required by law.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the purpose for which it is processed.
When information is no longer reasonably necessary for these purposes, we may delete or de-identify it.
5. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed through Advocate.
However, no online service, transmission method, or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.
Because uploaded documents may contain sensitive information, you should avoid uploading information that is unnecessary for the analysis you are requesting.
6. Your Documents
You retain ownership of documents you upload to Advocate.
You should only upload documents that you own or are otherwise authorized to provide and process.
You may contact us to request deletion of personal information or uploaded content associated with you. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
7. Children’s Privacy
Advocate is not intended for children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Advocate changes.
When we make changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page. If changes materially affect how we handle personal information, we may provide additional notice through the service where appropriate.
